Announcement Regarding the Mandatory Affixing of the "Halal" Designation

Le The Ministry of Industry and Pharmaceutical Production brings to the attention of all economic operators that, in accordance with the conclusions of the work of the National Monitoring Committee for the Certification and Marking of “Halal” for concerned food products – established by the Interministerial Order of 9 Ramadan 1437 corresponding to June 14, 2016, which sets the conditions and procedures for affixing the “Halal” designation for concerned food products – the list of imported food products subject to the mandatory affixing of the “Halal” designation – Halal certification – is established as follows:

  • Meats and animal-based products, including meat products

  • Sweets, including chocolate, pastries, and biscuits

  • Food additives of animal origin and/or composed of ingredients suspected to be non-halal due to the methods of obtaining them, pre-packaged and intended for sale as is or for the food industry

  • Dairy derivatives, including caseins

  • All types of cheeses intended for processing or the food industry

  • Infant formulas and follow-up formulas

  • Rennet
